- Do a little research on Kate Chopin--her background, where she lived, the historical period during which she wrote, etc. Use at least 2 sources. Type (very briefly) what you discover to be 5 of the most interesting (unique) facts you discover and include citations of your sources. Go beyond basic, biographical information so that you have facts that shed light on the culture, history, and people of her time in relation to her works. Be prepared to share your information w/your classmates and to hand in the typed information on Tuesday, 3/8. (10 pts.)
- Continue reading The Awakening. Finish reading the entire novel for discussion on Tuesday, 3/15. Be prepared for a quiz on the novel.
- Begin to study and prepare for your Thursday, 3/10, midterm exam (textbook/notes/journals allowed--no electronics, no sharing materials). NOTE: No make-up exams will be allowed unless there are verifiable special circumstances. Special exam accomodations must be made at least 3 days prior to the exam.
- Prepare Journal Batch #2 for submission--Due Thursday, 3/10, on the day of your midterm exam (4 journals for Weeks 5,6,7,8--at least 1 must be on The Awakening)
