Subject: Construction Notice - Opening of Loop Road

Hi everybody - with the construction of our new Building 6 (Student and Community Support Center) and Building 7 (Science Annex) coming to completion, there is no longer any need to keep the Loop Road closed on the north side of campus.  I want to thank everyone for their patience with putting up this ‘temporary inconvenience’ for the past two-plus years.

Please . . . please . . . please . . . be careful and ask others to be careful when driving through that area of the Loop Road that was once closed off with swing gates.  We have a lot of student pedestrian traffic making their way back-and-forth to Pacific Heights.

Stop signs have been placed and pedestrian crosswalks and the speed bump in that area have been repainted - all in an effort to slow vehicles down and promote safety.  The District’s Construction and Planning Department is working actions to change our green wayfinding signs to reflect directional changes due to the Loop Road opening.

This will be a temporary opening – as we will once again have to close the Loop Road in that general area a year from now when we get construction underway for further campus improvements.

Have a great Spring Semester !
