Subject: Construction Notice - Campus Power Shut Down - April 15

Hi everybody – I want to get this out to you before everyone takes off for Spring Break so that you can make plans accordingly.

The construction of our new Building 6 (Student Support and Community Services Center) and Building 7 (Science Annex) is moving right along.  We are at the phase in the construction process where it’s time to make the electrical tie in connections to both buildings.  To do so, we will have to shut down the power on campus.  Our Child Development Center and Pacific Heights Annex will not be affected.

The campus will be without power on Saturday, April 15 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On your last work day prior to Spring Break, before leaving campus, please ensure that the following has been performed:

þ     Notify intrusion alarm monitoring agencies about the planned outage.

þ     Make alternative arrangements for any organisms that must be sustained by a regulated temperature - i.e. any science lab experiments.

þ     Remove all perishable items from faculty, staff, and lab refrigerators.

þ     Power down all office equipment to include computers, printers and copiers before leaving your work area.
