Master Plan Analysis

Entrances


Audience shared need of better identifiable entrances on three spots on campus:

    1. Intersection from Farm Hill Road to Building 3 and lots 2 and 3

    2. Intersection from Farm Hill Road and Cañada Road to lots 5 and 6 past Building 1

    3. Access between Parking lot 8 and Building 22

    4. Recent improvements on Farm Hill entrance were acknowledged

Consolidation of outdoor Spaces


Master plan analysis of outdoor spaces was presented:

    1. Definition of some outdoor spaces, such as space north of Buildings 16, 17 and 18

    2. Soft edge along pathway that runs from Building 22 to Building 8

    3. Possible access to ground level of building 6 thru walkway along parking lot 5

Circulation


Audience acknowledges that section of road that traverses campus between Buildings 1 and 3 needs improvement to manage interface between pedestrian and vehicle.

Audience stated that traffic consist of both college and neighbor vehicular circulation from and to Farm Hill and Cañada Road. Some attendees recommended restricting access to the campus to only the College Community.

There was consensus that road improvements from the intersection from lots 2 and 3 past Building 1 decent to Cañada Road and to the athletic fields needs improvements to manage interface between pedestrians and vehicles. Some mechanisms to achieve improvements were discussed, such as:

  1. Managing width of road,

  2. Incorporating landscaping,

  3. Utilization of bumps following District standards

  4. Improvement of vehicular signage

Other considerations for road improvements in different areas of campus:

  1. Consider construction of Jogging Trails/Walking

  2. Provide safe pathway to tennis courts

  3. A question was raised about a potential conflict with incorrectly using the fire road as a drop-off at Building 9.

  4. Attendees anticipates changes on vehicular circulation pattern after completion of Building 9. Some recommended to shift/and or adding a bus stop from current location to Parking Lot 1.

  5. There were specific concerns about the lack of clear vehicular signage. Ongoing way finding project will be reviewed

Audience expressed their perception of not enough parking space

Future plans for Faculty and Staff Housing


Location of future plans for Faculty & Staff Housing were discussed (current location of tennis courts OR current Parking lot 7). If applicable, tennis courts relocation within the athletic area was requested

Audience proposed a third location for housing near Cañada Road entrance
