Subject: Construction Notice - Power Shutdowns during Winter Break - Buildings 3, 8, 9, and 10

Hi everyone – just me – trying to ‘squeak’ out another one of this notices before everyone takes off for the Holiday Season and Winter break.
The seismic retrofit and modernization construction is progressing nicely in our Buildings 3 and 8. They are both in a phase of construction when extensive electrical wiring and electrical panel work needs to get done, which means the ‘live hot electricity’ must be shut down to the building. Any power shut down to Building 8 will affect Buildings 9 and 10 – which has been coordinated with our Automotive Program staff.
So, here are the periods –
b. Building 3 . . . . No power starting Monday, December 19 thru Wednesday, December 28.
In both instances, the construction contractors will be running generators near the affected buildings to provide necessary power for construction equipment. In the case of Building 3, the generator will also be providing power to Portables 3A–3E and the
