Subject: Construction Notice - Building 5 - HVAC Replacement - Postponement of Roof Work

Hi everyone – the work that was scheduled during two Saturdays in November on the roof of Building 5 to replace four large air conditioning units has been postponed until Winter Break.

Tentative plans are to get the work done December 19 thru December 22 – but again, these are tentative dates and may slip further back.  No work will be done before the last day of the Fall Semester.

When the work is scheduled, we will be using a crane to lift all four of the old HVAC units off the roof and replace them with brand new units.  Most of Staff Lot 6 will be needed to receive the four large HVAC units, to become a staging area for the crane, and then to become a crane platform area to lift the new units and recover the old units off the roof.  Additionally, we do not want anyone in Building 5 while this is all taking place.

Our Swinerton Team will be making sure there are appropriate construction signage posted, that there are barricades out to cordone the areas affected, and to make sure a safe operation takes place.

More details will be forthcoming in early December once we get the schedule firmed up.
