Subject: Construction Notice - Trenching in Front of Bldg 7

Hi everyone – I trust the start of the Fall Semester is going well for you.  I appreciate your cooperation and patience with all the ‘hassles’ of coming back to a campus with construction seemingly everywhere.

The restrooms on the 1st and 2nd floors of Building 8, co-used by Building 7, will soon have to be closed, as they will undergo construction as part of the ongoing Building 8 Seismic Retrofit and Modernization project.

A modular building restroom has been set in front of Building 7 (east entrance), which will be in place through the Building 8 construction (end of Fall 2006).  The sewer system for the modular building restroom will be tied into an existing underground sewer system.  To do so will mean some pavement trenching will have to take place in front of Building 7.   The contractors (John Plane Construction) will always maintain access to the Building 7 during this work, which is ongoing and expected to be completed by Friday, August 19.

I apologize for this temporary inconvenience. Please be careful as you navigate your way to and through the east entrance of Building 7.  Thanks -
