       Successful swing of offices and classrooms in Bldg 8 to Pacific Heights, Bldg 1, Bldg 2, and Bldg 5

       Successful swing of Cosmetology to Pacific Heights

       Summer “Facelift” in Bldg 1   

o       Rooms = 1105, 1107, 1111, 1115, 1124, 1303, 1304, 1306, 1319 and 1320

o       New floor tile in hallways; stairways and restrooms also painted

       Concrete foundations poured for Bldgs 6 & 7A

       Bldg 8 hazardous materials removed; demolition getting underway

       New floor in Portable 3B

       Athletic Fields

o        Outdoor restroom near completion

o        Tennis courts opened

o        Upper soccer field opened

o        Started Parking Lot 11 (north of track) construction  

Capital Improvement Program

1.  Pacific Heights 

o        Ongoing  - District meetings & discussions continue regarding future construction plans for the Pacific Heights area – i.e. site for future Cosmetology building and Child Development Center building

o        Use as a Swing Space

§         August 2004 to May 2006  - Swing space for Bldg 3

§         June 2005 to December 2006  - Swing space for Bldg 8

§         June 2005 to January 2012  - Swing space for Cosmetology

§         December 2006 to June 2008  - Swing space for some of Bldg 7, Facilities warehouses, all Swinerton

o        Ongoing  - construct Cosmo dispensary area and ADA compliant unisex restroom near south entrance

 2.  Bldg 1 ‘Summer 2005 Facelift’

o        Summer 2005   - exact dates of all work TBD 

o        11 rooms identified  - scope of work in each room varies - paint, floor tile, ceiling, furniture, window treatments, SMART technology

§         Ongoing  - finishing furniture installation

§         Early September  - start window treatment installation

 3.  Bldg 3 Seismic Retrofit and Modernization

o        August 15  - parking in Staff Lot 3 opened   

o        March 2006  - Complete construction

o        May 2006 (end Spring 2006)  – PE Department faculty/staff/classes move back to Bldg 3

 4.  Bldg 8 Seismic Retrofit and Modernization

o        End June  - Bldg 8 closed

o        Ongoing  - Modular restroom in front of Bldg 7 being install

o        December 2006 (end Fall 2006)  – Bldg 8 faculty/staff/classes move from swing locations back to Bldg 8

 5.  Fall 2005 “One Off” Projects   - exact dates for most TBD

o        October  - Paint exterior of Portables 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, and 3E

o        October  - Construct ADA/pedestrian walkway behind Bldg 5 from Staff Lot 6 to Bookstore

o        October  - Repair road drain at Marisol T-intersection entrance to campus

o        October  - Repair and replace pavement along Loop Road between Lot 4 and Track

o        October  - Install road drainage north of Lot 5 at Pacific Heights Blvd dead end

o        Repair and replace pavement at Marisol T-intersection entrance to campus

o        Replace ramps at Portables 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, and Child Development Center

 6.  2005 HVAC Projects   - exact dates TBD

o        Bldg 1  - replace rooftop HVAC exhaust fans (x7)

§         No exhaust fan air circulation; crane work involved in Staff Lot 1

o        Bldg 2  - paint and coat rooftop HVAC unit and rooftop ductwork

§         Periods when HVAC units will need to be shut down

o        Co-Generation Unit (outside Bldg 2 loading dock)  - paint and coat

§         Periods when Co-Gen unit will need to be shut down

o        Bldg 5  - replace rooftop HVAC units (x4)

§         October 1 –  Saturday morning     Units 1 & 2 shut down; crane work involved

§         October 15 – second Saturday morning    Units 3 & 4 shut down; crane work involved

 7.  Bldg 6 (Student Support & Community Services Center) & Bldg 7A (Science Wing)

o        September 2006 (Fall 2006)  - Complete construction

o        January 2007 (Spring 2007) - Bldg 6 and Bldg 7A “Ribbon Cutting” Opening

 8.  Building 4 (Bookstore)

o        December 2006 (end of Fall 2006)  - Bookstore moves to Bldg 6

o        April 2007  – Bldg 4 demolished and area landscaped

 9.  Building 2 (Phase III) – 3rd Floor

o        December 2006 (end of Fall 2006)   - Cafeteria moves to Bldg 6

o        December 2006 (end of Fall 2006)  - Student Activities moves to Bldg 6

o        June 2007 (end of Spring 2007)  - Remaining Bldg 2-3rd Floor faculty/staff/classes move to swing locations (Pacific Heights or other campus locations)

o        June 2008 (end of Spring 2008)   - Bldg 2-3rd Floor construction complete

10.  Building 7 (Allied Health)

o        December 2006 (end of Fall 2006)  - Bldg 7 faculty/staff/classes move to swing locations

(Bldg 7A or Pacific Heights)

o        January 2007 – Bldg 7 closed

o        June 2008 (end of Spring 2008)  - Bldg 7 faculty/staff/classes move from swing locations back to Bldg 7

11.  Facilities Maintenance Center (FMC)

o        December 2006  (end of Fall 2006)  - Swinerton and Facilities warehouse moves to Pacific Heights

o        January 2007  - Start construction

o        March 2008 – Facilities warehouse moves back to new Bldg 12; Swinerton remains at Pacific Heights

Athletic Field Improvements Program

12.  Track and Lower Soccer Field

o        Underground water issues being addressed; redesign of stairs and disabled person ramp that connect lower and upper fields may be needed

o        Construction on hold   - completion date unknown

13.  Upper Soccer Field 

o        Construction fully complete to include scoreboard install and bleacher assembly

14.  Baseball Field

o        Mid November  - Fully complete construction

15.  Tennis Courts

o        Mid September   - Fully complete construction to include bench install

16.  Outdoor Restroom Facility

o        Mid September   - Fully complete construction

17.  New Parking Lot 11  (north of Track)

o        100 parking spaces + 10 disabled person spaces; directly north of track & east of grass soccer field

o        End September  -  Fully complete construction
