Subject: Construction Notice - Boiler Work - No Heat or Hot Water Campuswide

Hello everyone –  me again – one of the last steps to repairing our heating and hot water system will be to make some valve replacements to the piping at the boilers.  In order to do so, we have to drain all the scalding hot water from the boilers and hot water lines throughout campus.  This means there will be no building heat nor sink hot water to Buildings 1, 2, 5, 7, and 8 starting Monday, June 6 thru Friday, June 10.   Building 2 will be without heat and sink hot water for a longer period – thru June 17 (see Construction Notice sent yesterday).

I apologize for the inconvenience and uncomfortable condition this work will cause, but be assured . . . this should end the troubles we have had for years with our heating and hot water loop system.

ITS is working to correct problems we are experiencing with our real-time view of the construction of our new Building 6 (Student Support and Community Services Center), at http://www.smccd.net/accounts/smccd/webcams/skystudentcenter.htm.   It appears that the camera system is ‘stuck’ on a picture taken May 9.

Please be careful when navigating through all the construction it seems we are trying to cram into the short Summer Break period.  Thanks.
