Zone Control Work Explained:

Zone Controls are the equipment that control the temperature and air flow in occupied spaces. The existing pneumatic control systems were installed during the original construction of the campus and buildings. Although the only visible parts of these systems are the wall mounted thermostats, these pneumatic control systems also include valves, piping tubing and miscellaneous other components that are inside walls, ceilings and mechanical rooms. These pneumatic controls systems are antiquated, in disrepair, imprecise and do not allow your Facilities Engineers to provide optimal comfort levels and air quality for the best learning and workspace environments. This project will replace those pneumatic zone control components with state of the art, digital zone controls. Digital zone controls will achieve improved indoor environmental and air quality, energy efficiency, maintenance ease, and most importantly improved occupant comfort. When construction is complete, manual adjustment of the temperature in your office or classroom may be possible.
