Description: The Pacific Heights campus was built in 1959 with a later addition completed in 1962. This brick and wood stud single story building totals 39,675 sf. The campus was acquired in 2002 with the intent to utilize the space as a temporary home for various departments while their spaces were renovated or constructed. This building will undergo renovation and modernization in order to prepare for Skyline faculty, staff and students. The interior finishes will be renovated and repaired as needed. The electrical and mechanical systems will be upgrades to accommodate college usage levels. General accessibility issues will be addressed including a pedestrian link to the main campus. A modular restroom/locker room will be added adjacent to the building. Finally, automobile circulation in the adjacent parking areas will be improved. The Building 3 occupants will swing to Pacific Heights prior to the Fall 2004 Semester. The Building 8 occupants will swing prior to the Spring 2005 Semester. Benefits: This project will provide the college with a permanent venue to temporarily house classes and faculty offices during the modernization and seismic upgrades to Buildings 3, 7 & 8. The alternative would likely have been to house these programs in portable buildings during the construction on the existing buildings. |
