Subject: Construction Notice - Construction Update - 1st Day of Spring Semester 2005
Hello everyone - and I wish for you a great Spring Semester. The following is a construction status update that Doug Henry (Swinerton) put together this morning. I felt it was important that you see it also . . .
Bldg 1 – Heat is functioning pretty much throughout the building (maybe too much in some areas but we’ll get that adjusted). Chevron has been alerted to clean-up Office 1132. We will pass-on any more urgent service needs as they come in. CMI and Yamas both have small crews working in the building. Work will continue for a couple weeks. Ceiling tiles will be replaced overhead as work gets completed.
Bldg 3 – Haz Mat Abatement is continuing. No noticeable impacts to the campus. The Seismic/Modernization Contract should be awarded next month and that work should commence in a little over 30 days.
Bldg 5 – Heat is on.
Bldg 6 & 7A – Most of the noisy site demolition was completed during the Winter Break. Fence line is intact and additional signage was posted at gates.
Bldg 7 – Heat is on. We're working on a few areas that were reported this morning that they feel like they are not heating.
Bldg 8 – Heat is on. A few items in the classrooms that were abated still need to get restored. We will check back this afternoon and coordinate. Classes were underway in all classrooms.
Exterior Lighting – Additional temporary lighting was added yesterday to illuminate the Student
Heating and Hot Water
Athletic Fields – The Baseball Field is being used by the team for practice. The few remaining items of work to be completed at the Baseball Field will be coordinated with the team’s usage. Work is continuing at the Tennis Courts and upper Soccer Field. Turf installation should commence soon at the Upper Soccer Field.
Please contact Swinerton at x7041 or me if you see any suspected unsafe conditions. Campus access is almost back to where it was last semester and will improve over the next couple weeks.
Thank you for your patience.
