Subject: Construction Notice - Fencing for Heating and Hot Water Infrastructure - Front of Bldgs 1 & 2

Hello everyone – the underground hot water piping project that will provide our new Buildings 6 and 7A with heating and hot water will be getting underway next Monday, November 29.  Preston Pipelines, our construction contractor for this project, will start by erecting barrier fencing to isolate the construction areas between Buildings 1 and 2.  Later next week trenching within the fenced areas is scheduled to get started.

All entrances and access ways to/from Buildings 1 and 2 will remain open throughout the construction period.  Large metal plates will be placed over any exposed trenches and act as ‘bridges’ over the trenches.  The fencing will shift throughout the construction, but passageways to Buildings 1 and 2 will always be available.

The construction period will run through the Holidays and end prior to the start of next Spring Semester.

Please exercise extreme caution when walking in and about our quad area during this construction period.  I apologize for the temporary inconvenience.

Thanks -
