eMatriculation
Matriculation
is a state-mandated process. All California community colleges
have matriculation requirements.
You are required
to go through the matriculation steps and are considered a non-exempt
student if you intend to:
-
Work
toward a vocational certificate, or
-
Work toward an Associated degree, or
-
Complete
a university transfer program and transfer to earn a Bachelor's
degree, or
-
If
you are currently undecided but considering one of the goals
listed above.
If you are a non-exempt student, follow the steps listed below
and you will receive an appointment to register for classes.
As
a non-exempt matriculating student you will be eligible for priority
registration as a continuing student.
You are NOT required
to go through the matriculation steps and are considered an exempt
student if:
-
you are taking courses for personal enrichment only and do not
intend to earn a certificate or degree
-
you have
already completed an Associate's degree or higher, or
-
you are enrolled
at another college or university and attending CSM to meet requirements
of that institution only.
If you are an exempt
student, submit a College Admissions application and you will receive
an appointment to register
in the mail or viewable on your WebSMART
account.
