The Writing Center instructors are pleased to help students in English 100, 100/101, 110, 165, and ESL 400. All students can use the computers in the Writing Center. Students must bring their yellow or pink reporting forms in order to use the Writing Center. Instructors do not proofread essays. The goal is to help students with specific writing difficulties -- thesis, organization, development, or specific grammar patterns. The purpose is not to correct student papers to improve grades but to help students become better writers as well as independent editors of their own essays. Students are limited to three conferences per essay. Students are responsible for showing up for regularly scheduled appointments. If they miss two appointments and have not called to cancel, they will not be allowed to sign up for any appointments for two weeks. All work on the computer, including Internet activities, must be related to writing projects on course requirements. Students may print up to five pages of materials from the Internet.
