and ESL Group Workshops

Students in composition classes who are assigned tutorials this semester or who want to work on specific areas of their writing can sign up for English or ESL group workshops. Each group workshop focuses on a specific tutorial and includes explanation of a specific writing skill, exercises, and a writing assignment. Students who attend a workshop can complete all the work for an assigned tutorial and should bring their reporting forms. Please come to the English 800 Lab (18-102) and sign up for group workshops in person. Please note that if fewer than three students sign up for a group workshop, then it will be canceled.

ESL Grammar Workshops Scheduled For Spring 2009 These grammar workshops are specifically designed for students who are non-native speakers/writers of English. You may attend an ESL Grammar Workshop if you are a student in ESL 400 or English 850; OR a non-native speaker/writer of English in English 828, 838, 100, 100/101, or 110.Sign up in person in 18-102 (the English 800 Lab) for group workshops that interest you and are at your appropriate writing level (see below). Each workshop includes the explanation of a specific grammar point, exercises, and an editing or writing assignment. Bring your reporting form or ESL 850 folder. Students who attend a workshop and complete all of the work will receive an instructor signature on their reporting forms or ESL 850 folders to acknowledge their participation. If fewer than three students sign up for a workshop, it will be cancelled. All workshops will be held in the English 800 Lab (18-102). For workshops with an asterisk (*), you should prepare written work before you attend. ESL
