Amelito Enriquez, Ph.D.
SOLES Principal Investigtror/Project Director
Dr. Amelito Enriquez is a professor of Engineering and Mathematics, and has been at Cañada College since 1995. He has also been a lecturer at the San Francisco State University School of Engineering since 2001. He is a strong advocate for providing opportunities for underrepresented groups to succeed in math, science and engineering. He is a Faculty Sponsor of the Mathematics, Engineering, and Science (MESA) Program, and a faculty advisor for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). He is also the Principal Investigator for the Math, Science and Engineering Transfer Scholarships (M-SETS) Program supported by the National Science Foundation through the Scholarships in Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics (NSF S-STEM) Program.
Nilgun Ozer, Ph.D.
Co-Principal Investigator
Dr. Nilgun Ozer is a professor in Electrical Engineering, and has been at San Francisco State University’s School of Engineering since 2001. She worked at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 1993 to 1998 and at the University of California, Berkeley from 1998 to 2001. She has 25 years of teaching and research experience at different universities and research institutions in Europe and the United States. She is currently the Director of SFSU's MESA Engineering Program and the Interim Director of the Center for Science and Mathematics Education at SFSU.
Wenshen Pong, Ph.D.
Co-Principal Investigator
Dr. Wenshen Pong is a professsor of Civil Engineering at San Francisco State Univerisy. He joined the SFSU engineering faculty in 1998, and is currently the Acting Director of the SFSU School of Engineering. He was awarded a 2007-2008 NASA Administrator's Fellowship to provide opporatunities for underrepresented froups to succeed in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Raymond Lapuz
Summer Math Jam Instructor
Professor Raymond Lapuz has been teaching math since 1991. From 1991 through 2000, he worked in UC Santa Cruz as a section leader for the ACE Honors Program, an NSF-funded program to help increase underrepresented students in the sciences before joining the Cañada College faculty in 2000.
