Documentary Film on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict to be Shown Sept. 29
Occupation 101 looks at the current and historical root causes of the conflict.
A thought-provoking and powerful documentary film on the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be shown from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 in the Cañada College Main Theater, 4200 Farm Hill Blvd., Redwood City. Occupation 101 details life under Israeli military rule, the role of the United States in the conflict, and the major obstacles that stand in the way of a lasting and viable peace. The roots of the conflict are explained through first-hand, on-the-ground experiences from leading Middle East scholars, peace activists, journalists, religious leaders and humanitarian workers. The film is sponsored by Mike Noonan, adjunct professor of history at the college. Special guest host Tony Kashani will give an introduction before the film and facilitate a discussion afterward.
