San Mateo County Mobile Environmental Testing Unit on Display Sept. 24

This popular event was a hit for both science and non-science majors last year.

William Lent, the Hazardous Materials Program Manager for the San Mateo County Health Department, Environmental Health Service Division, will be on campus Thursday, Sept. 24 from noon to 1 p.m. demonstrating the county's environmental health mobile testing unit. Lent will talk about environmental testing and provide demonstrations of the mobile unit. The program will be held in Building 2, Room 10, the room adjacent to the cafeteria and under the Bookstore. The average home stores and uses more than 60 hazardous products. The Hazardous Materials Program teaches county residents how to properly dispose of them. Mobile testing units are self-contained laboratories capable of going on-site to help with testing.
