For Immediate Release June 29, 2009
Public Invited to View Fireworks From Cañada College Campus
Cañada's Parking Lot Overlooks Silicon Valley.
Cañada College will open parking Lot 7 on the Fourth of July for the community to view public fireworks displays. The parking lot provides great views of several different community fireworks displays. Last year, the campus was closed due to construction. This year, only one of the two parking lots used for viewing the fireworks will be open because Parking Lot 3 is under construction. People are encouraged to arrive early as the annual event draws approximately 2,500 spectators.
In an effort to keep the holiday safe and fun for everyone, no alcohol, barbecues, or fireworks will be allowed on campus. Dogs must be leashed while on campus grounds. Please feel free to bring a picnic, chairs, and blankets. Parking is free but everyone is asked to please enter the campus from the Farm Hill Blvd. entrance. It will open at 6:30 p.m. for cars, bicycles and pedestrians.
