ASCC Plans Welcome Week Activities to Kickoff Fall Semester
A welcome barbecue, breakfast with the president, and an outdoor concert highlight the week.
The Associated Students of Cañada College have planned a week full of activities to welcome new and returning students to campus for the fall semester. Welcome Week activities kickoff Wednesday, Aug. 19 and run through Tuesday, Aug. 26. All events are free.
- ASCC Hospitality Table: Free coffee and pastries will be available from 7:30 to 11 a.m. outside Building 9 on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
- Welcome BBQ: Free food, music, a climbing wall, caricature portraits, henna tattoos and a photo fun booth will be available. The barbecue will be held in the front plaza near Building 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20.
- Hypnotist Show: Evening students will be dazzled and amazed - and happy to find free food and prizes. The show will be held in the cafeteria from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20.
- Breakfast with President Mohr: Come meet Cañada College President Tom Mohr and enjoy a free continental breakfast and coffee. The breakfast will be held in the Building 8 lobby from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24.
- Outdoor Concert and Club Fair: Hot rockin' Loomis and the Lust will be performing in the front plaza near building 9 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Free food will be available.
The Associated Students of Cañada College is the student government organziation for the Cañada College student body. Senators represent the student perspective on various college and statewide issues that affect community college students.
