: Interviewing tips & practice

Complete interview preparation by: March 26

Topic Outline (Click here to see an example of a topic outline) - Due: March 26

Complete interview no later than April 21

have narrator sign release form before the interview
  *
take digital photos of narrator after the interview
  * ask narrator if they have any old photos from the times and/or topics they talked about that you can borrow to scan/copy for your webpage

If interview is recorded on tape, submit completed interview tape(s) by: April 16

If interview is recorded in digital format, export the audio as an MP3 file and submit file by April 21.)

Class meeting: April 21: Digital audio editing

Audio log (general topic outline of audio with rough times, see Audio Log Example) - Due: April 23

Edited files - Due: April 30

Class meeting: Thursday, April 30: Putting your web page together

1. Introducing interview subject(s)/question(s)
2. Placing interviews in context (bibliographic research)
3. Integrating photos and/or other support materials

Web page - Due: Thursday, May 14
    
Submit the following files in a single folder (on CD or bring files on a flash drive to library for immediate copying):

·         index.html (web page file)

·         index_files folder (contains image files automatically saved by Word)

·         all .mp3 files (audio segments)
for video segments, submit list of links to YouTube videos for each segment
