practical introduction to methods and techniques of gathering and documenting
oral research using digital audio technology. Students will learn to interview
people in order to record and organize information relevant to specific
historical, social, cultural, ethnic or other areas of research interest.
Completed digital oral research projects will be included in the college
library's oral history website. Transfer credit: CSU.
This course
is targeted to students doing oral research projects for other concurrent
courses (e.g. history, English or other social science or humanities courses.)
The goals of the course are to support the oral research activities of those
students and the instructors of the courses they are taking concurrently and to
encourage students to do oral research projects related to North San Mateo
County communities, history & issues in order to begin to build the Skyline College / North San Mateo County
Online Oral History Archive on the Library's website.
