Description:

Workshops provide a practical introduction to methods and techniques of gathering and documenting oral history using digital audio & video technology. Students will learn to interview people in order to record and organize information relevant to specific historical, social, cultural, ethnic or other areas of research interest. Completed digital oral history projects will be included on the college library's oral history website.

These projects are targeted to students doing oral history projects for courses such as history, English, ESOL or other social science or humanities courses. The goals of the workshops are to support the oral history activities of those students and the instructors of the courses for which they are doing the projects and to encourage students to do oral history projects related to North San Mateo County communities, history & issues in order to build the Skyline College / North San Mateo County Online Oral History Archive.
