Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 1.9 million members and 1,200 chapters. Phi Theta Kappa has recognized academic excellence in the two-year college since 1918 and has become the most prestigious honor society serving two-year colleges around the world.

The innovative programs and services and array of membership benefits offered by Phi Theta Kappa are unequaled among honor societies. Co-curricular programs focus upon the Society's Hallmark of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. It is estimated that 200,000 students participate in Phi Theta Kappa programs each year.

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among community college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate to exchange ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. Our chapter, BQO, has earned five-star status. Skyline students do win scholarships!
