No doubt you will have to give me some statistics on your country, therefore I recommend using the CIA WorldFactbook site. Other reliable resources might be the BBC, International Herald Tribune or the following link on the Library website.
"News Sites" page is:
http://www.skylinecollege.edu/library/worldnewslinks.html (Students can
get there by clicking on "Find Articles" from the library home page, then
"News Sites" under "Newspaper/News Databases."
From the "News Sites" page, there are also links to two "Directories of
News Sites"--"World Newspapers and Magazines", "IPL Newspapers"--which
link to hundreds more news sites around the world.

Immigration has become the number one social issue in Europe. Naturally, social, political and economic issues are all intertwined. Your job:
1. Choose one Western European country.
2. What are the current immigration laws? Give me a cursory overview. Why are the laws so lax? Or, if not lax then tell me why they are so strict?
3. Critique the immigration policies of the country. Critique means to comment on something giving its good as well as bad qualities.
4. How is the issue of immigration affecting the political policies in your country? OR
How is the issue of immigration affecting the economic policies in your country?
