Introductory Notes

In this class we will cover, exponents, radicals, rational expressions, factoring and different methods to solve quadratic, exponential and logarithmic equations.

Along the way, you willl understand the importance of attendance and keeping up with homework.

I conduct a lot of group work which cannot be made up if you do not attend class.

In this class you're expected to:

  • closely read/reread/study each section..

  • actively participate in class discussions by carefully listening to others' opinions and expressing your thoughts as clearly as possible.

  • complete all homework and in-class assignments.

  • hand in all work on time or receive no credit. (Note: Late work is rarely accepted.)

  • ask for the phone numbers of 2 people you can call if you miss assignments

  • have time to ask your particular questions in class and discuss your work with me during office hours.

  • closely follow attendance policy, arriving no later than 10:10; 10 minutes late is considered an abscence, more than ten days abscence can become an instructor initiated drop.
